Well, happy day to you.I just finished cooking up some YUM.

Simple reverse Chicken Pot Pie

I was surprised the other day by a large bag of these gorgeous Wax Beans. So, I cooked them for us and for delivery. YUM

Made a monster amount of fresh Coleslaw.

Now to get it all packed up for delivery. To My Guy’s Parents.

Enjoy your day…..til next time…..I’m out of here ๐Ÿ™‚

FYI: recipes later this week. I just wanted to share my morning.

This week my bounty took 2 pictures to share. This is one of the best times of the year in Virginia for Local Produce. The Melons, Tomatoes, Peppers, Summer Squash, Beans, Okra, Summer Greens and many other YUMS are still around and all the wonderful Fall YUMS are just starting to come in.

imageOnions (both Red n White),Yellow Heirloom Tomatoes (can’t wait to slice one up), New Potatoes(both Purple and White),ย  Anaheim Peppers (no Poblanos. So, off to another favorite), Summer Squash, Colorful Sweet Peppers, Gorgeous Broccoli, more New Potatoes (What can I say they call me over and say eat me), Italian Beans and a couple Cucumbers. Average cost per pound $2.00

imageWhite Peaches (still-YEAH!!!!!), Golden crisp, Jonah and Gala Apples, and the first Pears of the season. Cost per pound $2.69

Total cost $53.00 a little more than I normally spend. I had to buy the Peaches. There won’t be anymore til next late spring. So, what’s a girl to do?????????

FYI: Do you know how old the average Grocery Store Apple is? It should scare you to know that they can be up to 8-12 months old.(information from numerous sources).

Til next time…..I’m going to my room ๐Ÿ™‚

Make a yummy favorite Sandwich. Only to realize.

There is absolutely no way you are going to get your mouth around it? My Kid and I were talking about this exact thing the other day. He also noticed that when you eat it as 2 separate pieces you seem to feel fuller. Maybe it’s just psychological. But, I really hope that is the case with one I’m having today. I’m so passed hungry. Today’s Sandwich consists of Whole-grain seeded Sour Dough (lightly toasted), Avocado (my choice to replace Mayonnaise. Not a mayonnaise fan. Besides who would want White Slimy goo. When you can have Yummy good for Avocado?), Farmer’s Market fresh Tomato, Lettuce (ok, Spinach or at least a Dark Lettuce would have been better), and thin sliced Roasted Chicken. Did I say “YUM”?

More on my love of Avocados. Favorite all time running out the door kinda Breakfast is Sourdough Toast. Mind your REAL Sourdough, not the vinegary copycat stuff. But, the real stuff made from a old good starter. Smeared with a perfectly ripened Avocado. Now, do you know how to check the ripeness of an Avocado? So simple and polite. You touch the top where the the stem was. If it is tender. It’s ripe and YUMMY. Now maybe I should clarify one more thing. This in regards to the ripeness of Haas and Calavo ( the darkย  skinned Avocados). I am not familiar with, nor do I like the large light skinned ones. Hey, I’m a LA Girl. What can I say ๐Ÿ™‚

til next time………I’m going to my room to play.

I’m still
